First Phase Campaign of Assam elections ends today

Guwahati: The campaigning for the first phase of the upcoming assembly elections ends today. As per the Election Commission of India (ECI) the campaigning for all three phases will end 48 hours prior to the polling time.

The first phase of the assembly election in the state will be held in 47 constituencies consisting of 12 districts. there are a total of 81,09,815 electors in the state.

There are 264 candidates contesting in the first phase of the Assam Assembly elections.

“Assam is scheduled to go to polls in Three Phases with polls due on March 27, April 1, and April 6 for the 126 ACs across 33530 Polling Stations covering more than 2.33 crore electors,” stated ECI in a press release.
