Guwahati Traffic Police Imposes Restrictions for Chhath Puja Celebration

In anticipation of the upcoming Chhath Puja festival, the Guwahati Traffic Police has implemented restrictions on vehicular movement to ensure the smooth conduct of the festivities. The official directive, issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police, outlines specific timings for these restrictions, aimed at facilitating the safe observance of Chhath Puja on November 19 and 20.

As per the order, vehicular traffic in Guwahati will face limitations starting from 1 pm on November 19, extending until devotees conclude their rituals in the evening. On the following day, November 20, the restrictions will commence at 1 am and remain in effect until devotees have departed from all Chhath Puja locations.

This measure is a proactive step taken by the Guwahati Traffic Police to manage the expected surge in devotees and vehicles during the significant Chhath Puja celebrations. The restrictions aim to minimize congestion, enhance safety, and facilitate an orderly flow of traffic during this auspicious festival.
