‘The time has come for the country to have its first woman CJI’: CJI

New Delhi: Outgoing Chief Justice of India SA Bobde said, the time has come for the country to have its first woman chief justice, on Thursday Bobde said while hearing a case related to the appointment of judges. Current CJI Bobde retires on April 23. Heading a bench, the CJI said he was of the view that the time “now” to move in the direction of having the first woman CJI. Other judges on the bench agreed with Bobde.
