Assam is expected to release the final electoral roll on February 8. This is a follow-up to the first post-split voter list published on 8 December 2023. Individuals can check their name on the list in several ways. They will go to the local office of the Electoral Commission (E.R.O.). Alternatively, you can visit the circle officer’s office. Or, you can check at each polling station. This list is also available online at the official website www.ceoassam.nic.in. We recommend that you contact your Stand Level Representative (BLO) for more information or assistance. Download the Voter Helpline app for easy access. Alternatively, you can visit voters.eci.gov.in.
As a result of the delimitation exercise, the total number of voters in the state of Assam has been revised to 2,43,02,460. This figure includes 122,12483 male voters, 120,89569 female voters and 408 third gender voters, an increase of 190,717 (0.8%) from before.
The release of the final voter list coincides with preparations for the 2024 Indian general election in Assam, which will be held by May 2024. The election will decide the representation for 14 Lok Sabha seats in the 18th Lok Sabha from Assam.
People seeking access to electoral rolls could avail services through the Internet, Common Service Centers called “Arunodoy Kendra” and Public Assistance Centers (PFCs) at various administrative offices. These services increase the transparency and accessibility of the electoral process by ensuring that citizens receive certified copies of electoral registers.
