As part of the ambitious Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), Udalguri Railway Station in Assam is poised to undergo a substantial facelift, becoming a beacon of modern amenities in the Northeast. With an estimated cost of 14.31 crore, this redevelopment project is set to elevate the station’s infrastructure and passenger experience.
The plan encompasses an extension of the existing station building, featuring a modern facade and a host of contemporary amenities. Passengers can expect retiring rooms, waiting areas with state-of-the-art facilities, and Divyangjan-friendly ramps. The station will boast two lifts, a 5-meter-wide Foot Over Bridge, and separate toilet blocks for male and female travelers.
Beyond structural enhancements, the redevelopment project includes improved parking facilities, beautification of the circulating area, and platform upgrades using marble stones and tiles. An entry-exit path is also in the works to enhance accessibility. With tenders awarded and groundwork underway, Udalguri Railway Station is on track for a remarkable transformation, aligning with the ABSS vision.
Simultaneously, efforts are being made to enhance passenger amenities system-wide, including Coach Guidance Boards, Train Information Display Systems, platform extensions, and easy-access water booths for Divyangjan. The ABSS continues to drive progress, promising a more comfortable and modernized railway experience for passengers across the Northeast.
