Digital Desk: In a momentous ceremony held at the organization of the Faculty of Nursing, Assam down town University proudly witnessed the 16th Lamp-lighting & Oath-taking ceremony symbolizing a new era of commitment and enlightenment whereby Ms. Pushpanjalli Devi, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Nursing, welcomed all the esteemed dignitaries and invited guests.
Eminent dignitaries including Dr. N.N. Dutta, Hon’ble Chancellor, Assam down town University, Prof.(Dr.) N.C. Talukdar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Assam down town University, Prof.(Dr.) Pranveer Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor, Assam down town University, Ms Mayurakshi Dutta, Resident Trustee, down town Hospital graced the occasion. Dr. N.N Dutta and Prof.(Dr.) N.C. Talukdar highlighted the significance of the auspicious event for the students to embark on their career journey, also underscoring the worthiness of the pledge taken collaboratively by all the 134 novice students of B.Sc. Nursing, GNM & ANM programmes amidst the presence of all the dignified officials, invited guests and faculties. The solemn promises made during the ceremony reflected the students’ firm dedication to the nursing profession.
The lighting of the ceremonial lamp added a profound dimension to the event, signifying the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of knowledge and clarity. The gentle glow of the lamp mirrored the guiding principles of the oath taken by the budding novices for the profession which was led by Prof. N. Monika, Associate Dean (Academics) with a hope that will illuminate the students’ path in leading & shining towards the profession and simultaneously leading the organization to greater heights. Prof.(Dr.) Manashi Sengupta, Dean, of the Faculty of Nursing, showcased and presented the annual report presentation of the past year highlighting the achievements, endeavours and future plans of the university.
A momentous release of the 2nd edition of the Biennial newsletter release was the limelight of the whole event conducted with the presence of all the dignitaries and guests present followed by a traditional prize distribution ceremony rewarding and appreciating all the meritorious, credible students in academics, clinical skills, sports and miscellaneous reflecting their effort and dedication in multiple fields of interest.
The ceremony was a great success because of everyone’s hard work and devotion, which was acknowledged by Ms Nishamoni Baishya, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Nursing when she proposed a vote of appreciation at its conclusion. In addition to signifying the students’ dedication to the honourable field of nursing, the lamp-lighting and oath-taking ritual laid the groundwork for a bright and optimistic future.
