Digital Desk: In a Letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi in Assam, Deputy Commissioner of Mizoram’s Kolasib District alleged that the Assam Police had disrupted Road Construction by Farmers at Aitlang, and kidnapped an Excavator operator at Gunpoint after he was blindfolded.
He claimed that Policemen in Commando Uniform dragged the Operator by the River, ripped off his Clothes and threatened for his Life, besides taking away his Mobile Phone and the Excavator key. The Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi dismissed the allegation as “baseless and fictitious”.
He said the Assam Forest Staff and Police had asked the operator of the Excavator to stop the Road Construction and Return to Mizoram as he had Trespassed into the Land of Assam. “The Driver immediately stopped the Construction and, in fear of arrest, went back to Kolasib District,” he said.
