Paris: Indian ace shuttler Saina Nehwal advanced into the women’s singles semifinals after a thrilling three-game win over USA’s Iris Wang in the quarterfinal of the Orleans Masters badminton tournament held on Friday. The fourth-seeded outclassed Wang with 21-19 17-21 21-19 scoreline.
This is Saina’s first semifinals after two years. Her last semifinal appearance was in January 2019 in the Indonesia Masters 500 tournament which she had won.
Saina will either face Denmark’s Line Christophersen or compatriot Ira Sharma for a place in the finals.
