Guwahati: Polling for 264 candidates in the 47 constituencies for the first phase of assembly elections is on the fray. Out of the 47 seats, 42 seats are from 11 districts of Upper Assam and northern Assam region and five seats from central Assam’s Nagaon district.
The district-wise voter percentage till 11:30 is as follows:
Sibasagar 30%, Mahamara 31%, Jorhat 29%, Majuli 32%, Teok31%, Nazira 19%, Sonari 33%, Khumtaisadiya 25%, Titabar 21%, Amguri 41%, Sonari 33%, Golaghat 25%, Dergaon 31%, Jonai 28%, Bokakhat 28%, Dhemaji 25%.
The polling began at 7 a.m. and will continue till 6 p.m.
